Desert Race: Plaster City, CA

My brother and I volunteered at an off-road race in Plaster City, CA (about 4 hours west of Phoenix). The experience was awesome and dusty. Below are some photos I took.

First Oil Painting

First painting in oil that I have done. It has definitely been a learning process. I probably made every mistake that is possible to make. I am now planning my next painting I am going to try something figurative.

Zephon bust from Legacy of Kain

These images are screens of one of the several WIP I have been slow-cooking for awhile now. Years ago (12, but who's counting?) I worked on character models, environments, lighting, animation blah-blah for the intro to Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver. Back then, I had made some character illustrations for 3 of the 5 brothers of Raziel, the main character, and never got around to the other two. This bust is one of those characters. His name is Zephon. I am currently building out textures and testing a rendering method. The final image should include hair effects - that's the reason for the smooth, bald skull. More on Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver can be found here.

Good Friday "Tinker Bell"

This is still a work in progress. I need to work out how the tattoos will look. Plus I'm not sold on the background. Check it out any way.

Light Painting Photos

Here are a few images from an art project I did over the summer for a First Friday gallery. All of these are long exposure (15-30 seconds) where I painted the subject with a flashlight.
